Participants also will be going to a separate log yard that ships pine logs to China in steel shipping containers.  At this stop Steve Davis, USDA-APHIS, will talk about the need for phytosanitary certificates for this export.  After leaving the log yard, you will return to Savannah and cross the Tallmadge Bridge to take a look at the Port of Savannah.

If you want to go on the Field Trip, please indicate this on the SFIWC registration form (space is limited to the first 24 responders).  There is NO additional cost for the Field Trip; lunch will NOT be provided.  We will need to collect some personal identification information from participants via email after receipt of the registration form: namehome address, and date-of-birth, as they appear on your driver’s license.
