2012 SFIWC Food Drive

2012 once again hosted a food drive during the Southern Forest Insect Work Conference. All contributions will benefit the local Emergency Food Bank. You can find information about the services they provide at http://efb.avenue.org/. This site lists the types of food items they need. Cash or checks also will be gladly accepted.

All donations were taken to the Emergency Food Bank following the closing business meeting. The food bank is located close to the Hotel, and everyone is invited to come along when we present the donations.

Frustrana Cup

The 2012 Frustrana Cup was a table shuffleboard tournament at Boylan Heights restaurant. The tournament was on Thursday, July 26, and started at 2 pm in order to finish before the evening banquet. The restaurant is located near the University of Virginia, and is accessible via a free trolley with stops near the hotel and the tournament site. All participants were strongly encouraged to sample the variety of liquid refreshments available at the site during the competition. As per tradition, all two-person teams were assembled randomly, just in case there were some shuffleboard sharks in our midst. Andy Londo has once again graciously volunteered to supply the trophies to the winners.
